Even The Longest Journey must eventually come to an end. April finds herself in the Guardian’s realm and must face the final three trials before entering the Tower. Once there, well, after you have saved two worlds, what do you do next? It’s the final session of The Longest Journey!
April arrives at the space station and immediately starts by exploring the bathrooms. She then distracts a guard, frees the last Guardian and spends some time exploring a storage room before leaving for the gateway to the realm of the Balance. It’s the penultimate step on The Longest Journey!
April explores the nicer part of Newport and discovers that a pizza box will get you in anywhere. She then has a confrontation with Jacob McAllen and reunites with Cortez. Briefly. She then gets the last information she needs from Burns Flipper and signs up to be an interstellar colonist. Because surely that will end well. We’re leaving Earth on The Longest Journey.
April returns to Marcuria in Arcadia to recover the last two pieces of the disc and to “learn courage” from those who stayed behind to face the Tyren invasion. She then reforges the disc, meets the White Draic Kin and learns the truth about her heritage and returns to to Stark to get help deciphering the Star Map. Then she goes shopping. Having reunified the Mareum and the Alaitian, April meets with the Blue Driac Kin, who gives her the jewel then promptly hands her off to the Dark People. She then returns to a strangely empty Marcuria and then back to Stark. Then the shooting starts. Another stop on The Longest Journey.
Having figured out the communication system on Alais, April makes her way to the Alatian, who seem to think she is the Windbringer of legend, but apparently fulfilling legend has a very low threshold on Stark. Or is it Arcadia? The narrator seems to be confused. Well, it has been a long journey. The Longest Journey, actually…
April finally makes it to the island of Alais where she finds the ruins of an old city and a crab having trouble coming out of his shell. She then has to get an ancient communication system working, help some stickmen build their lunar cannon and convince some crabs to let a giant fish on their beach. April wakes up to find herself drifting in a debris field of what is left of the White Dragon. She then gets kidnapped by Merpeople and taken to their underwater city. There she masters the art of breathing underwater, talks with their chatty queen, finds a long-lost shrine, solves a few puzzles and inadvertently fulfills another prophecy. April finally gets on a ship heading for the island of Alais, only to find that she really doesn’t like sea travel. She then discovers the mysteries of a magical compass, complains that the only food on board is a barrel of apples and wonders why she captured a worm. Then the Chaos Storm hits.
